BLTs On The Back Deck

A few days ago, give or take a week, I had the privilege of attending a lunch with the ladies on Marnie's deck.  It was so much fun. We drank glasses full of lemonade with lemon slices and clinking ice (of course) and ate bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches while chatting about our going concerns.

Sadly, the only picture I got of the food, was the dessert - which none of us ate at the lunch.   Next ladies lunch I will definitely remember to take photos of the food we actually eat.  But we did drink the lemonade you see in the photo and those flowers were on the table.  And I had the dessert for breakfast the next day when I ran back to Marnie's to try and recreate the event so I could take this photo.

There is nothing more fun (I wanted to write "funner" but one of the things we chatted about was the Queen's English) then relaxing with friends on a sunny deck, surrounded by flowers...

and a fat gnome - it's really hard to find a fat gnome...

Yay, Summer!

It's summer time!  And this is exciting because there are so many wonderful experiences to be had, tastes to savour, traditions to uphold and sights and sounds to appreciate. (Truth be told I can say this about every season.)

I've got Marnie working on a "welcome summer" banner that I'm going to hang on my son's bedroom door to celebrate the season.  I will tease you with the following work in progress pictures.

In my world summer is the most relaxing season.  Now I've learned that if I lived on a ranch it would be the most stressful season.  There's always another side to the coin.  Thankfully all my ranch familiarity comes from watching The Pioneer Woman on the Food Network

In my experience summer involves views like this:

Spanish Banks Beach, Vancouver

and this:

HarbourCats Game, Victoria's Royal Athletic Park

and this:

Top of the Squamish Gondola

And finally, if Marnie is involved, this:

Cultus Lake Water Park

And for sure this:
Burnaby Central Park Outdoor Pool

So here's to a summer full of fabulous photos that highlight many, many, memorable tastes, sights, and sounds.
